Act 5, Scene 6
Another part of the plain
- [Enter AJAX.]
- Ajax
- 3255 Troilus, thou coward Troilus, show thy head.
- [Enter DIOMEDES.]
- Diomedes
- 3256 Troilus, I say! Where's Troilus?
- Ajax
- 3257 What wouldst thou?
- Diomedes
- 3258 I would correct him.
- Ajax
- 3259 Were I the general, thou shouldst have my office
- 3260 Ere that correction. Troilus, I say! What, Troilus!
- [Enter TROILUS.]
- Troilus
- 3261 O traitor Diomed! Turn thy false face, thou traitor,
- 3262 And pay thy life thou owest me for my horse.
- Diomedes
- 3263 Ha! art thou there?
- Ajax
- 3264 I'll fight with him alone. Stand, Diomed.
- Diomedes
- 3265 He is my prize. I will not look upon.
- Troilus
- 3266 Come, both, you cogging Greeks; have at you—
- [Exeunt fighting.]
- [Enter HECTOR.]
- Hector
- 3267 Yea, Troilus? O, well fought, my youngest brother!
- [Enter ACHILLES.]
- Achilles
- 3268 Now do I see thee. Ha! have at thee, Hector!
- Hector
- 3269 Pause, if thou wilt.
- Achilles
- 3270 I do disdain thy courtesy, proud Trojan.
- 3271 Be happy that my arms are out of use;
- 3272 My rest and negligence befriend thee now,
- 3273 But thou anon shalt hear of me again;
- 3274 Till when, go seek thy fortune.
- [Exit.]
- Hector
- 3275 Fare thee well.
- 3276 I would have been much more a fresher man,
- 3277 Had I expected thee.
- [Re-enter TROILUS.]
- Hector
- 3278 How now, my brother!
- Troilus
- 3279 Ajax hath ta'en Aeneas. Shall it be?
- 3280 No, by the flame of yonder glorious heaven,
- 3281 He shall not carry him; I'll be ta'en too,
- 3282 Or bring him off. Fate, hear me what I say:
- 3283 I reck not though thou end my life to-day.
- [Exit.]
- [Enter one in armour.]
- Hector
- 3284 Stand, stand, thou Greek; thou art a goodly mark.
- 3285 No? wilt thou not? I like thy armour well;
- 3286 I'll frush it and unlock the rivets all
- 3287 But I'll be master of it. Wilt thou not, beast, abide?
- 3288 Why then, fly on; I'll hunt thee for thy hide.
- [Exeunt.]
