Another room in the Castle.
- [Enter EXTON and a Servant.]
- Sir Pierce of Exton
- 2618 Didst thou not mark the king, what words he spake?
- 2619 'Have I no friend will rid me of this living fear?'
- 2620 Was it not so?
- Servant
- 2621 These were his very words.
- Sir Pierce of Exton
- 2622 'Have I no friend?' quoth he: he spake it twice
- 2623 And urg'd it twice together, did he not?
- Servant
- 2624 He did.
- Sir Pierce of Exton
- 2625 And, speaking it, he wistly looked on me,
- 2626 As who should say 'I would thou wert the man
- 2627 That would divorce this terror from my heart';
- 2628 Meaning the king at Pomfret. Come, let's go.
- 2629 I am the king's friend, and will rid his foe.
- [Exeunt.]
