Act 4, Scene 5
ANTONY'S camp near Alexandria.
- [Trumpets sound within. Enter ANTONY and EROS; a SOLDIER meeting them.]
- Soldier
- 2475 The gods make this a happy day to Antony!
- Mark Antony
- 2476 Would thou and those thy scars had once prevail'd
- 2477 To make me fight at land!
- Soldier
- 2478 Hadst thou done so,
- 2479 The kings that have revolted, and the soldier
- 2480 That has this morning left thee, would have still
- 2481 Follow'd thy heels.
- Mark Antony
- 2482 Who's gone this morning?
- Soldier
- 2483 Who.
- 2484 One ever near thee. Call for Enobarbus,
- 2485 He shall not hear thee; or from Caesar's camp
- 2486 Say 'I am none of thine.'
- Mark Antony
- 2487 What say'st thou?
- Soldier
- 2488 Sir,
- 2489 He is with Caesar.
- Eros
- 2490 Sir, his chests and treasure
- 2491 He has not with him.
- Mark Antony
- 2492 Is he gone?
- Soldier
- 2493 Most certain.
- Mark Antony
- 2494 Go, Eros, send his treasure after; do it;
- 2495 Detain no jot, I charge thee; write to him—
- 2496 I will subscribe,—gentle adieus and greetings;
- 2497 Say that I wish he never find more cause
- 2498 To change a master.—O, my fortunes have
- 2499 Corrupted honest men!—Eros, despatch.
- [Exeunt.]
